Regulatory updates
Generali Versicherung AG is supervised by the Austrian FMA under the Insurance Supervision Act (VAG 2016). The FMA's 2024 Annual Report noted that the difficult situation for life insurers has continued to ease due to interest rate normalisation, and Austrian insurers maintained a strong solvency ratio of over 300% of the SCR. In 2024, the FMA conducted a thematic review on digital finance and operational resilience (DORA). From 1 January 2026, the FMA also became responsible for sanctions supervision of insurance companies. No specific enforcement actions against Generali Austria were identified in publicly available FMA communications.
