In August 2026 it was reported that BaFin approved the merger of the DEVK subsidiary Freeyou Insurance AG into DEVK Allgemeine Versicherungs-AG, effective retroactively from 1 January 2026, fully integrating the former digital insurance subsidiary into the parent group with all existing policies and claims processing continuing unchanged for customers.
