Regulatory updates
On 8 July 2025, BaFin approved the merger of R+V Direktversicherung AG (formerly R+V24) into R+V Allgemeine Versicherung AG, consolidating the group's direct and general non-life insurance operations under one entity. BaFin has also approved R+V Allgemeine Versicherung AG to extend its freedom-of-services insurance business to Bulgaria and other EU/EEA countries. Separately, on 1 April 2026 BaFin issued a new industry-wide circular (Rundschreiben 01/2026 VA) governing the conditions under which insurers, including R+V, may offer kidnap-and-ransom insurance. At its 2026 annual press conference, R+V Versicherung AG reported a record pre-tax profit of €195 million for 2025 (up from €115 million in 2024) and a rise in the group's solvency ratio from 168% to 204%, reflecting continued strong risk-bearing capacity.
