Regulatory updates
In December 2023, the MNB (Hungarian National Bank) imposed a total fine of HUF 15 million on K&H Biztosító Zrt. (HUF 9 million supervisory fine and HUF 6 million consumer protection fine) following a comprehensive inspection covering the period from 18 July 2020 to the conclusion of the review. Deficiencies were found in MTPL contract portfolio management, IT security (incomplete disaster recovery), corporate governance (actuarial independence), internal audit regulation, and customer complaint handling. The company was ordered to report remediation measures to the MNB by 31 March 2024 and 31 May 2024. The MNB confirmed the identified issues pose no systemic risk and do not endanger the insurer's reliable operation.
