Regulatory updates
In December 2025, Finanstilsynet completed a cross-sectoral review of non-life insurers' compliance with EU sanctions against Russia; for Gjensidige Forsikring's Danish branch it concluded that the inherent risk of the company breaching the Russia sanctions is low. Earlier actions include a December 2022 formal reprimand (påtale) for unlawful gender discrimination in insurance products, and a February 2022 fine of DKK 100,000 accepted from the National Special Crime Unit (NSK) for discriminating against pregnant policyholders, following a July 2021 police report filed by Finanstilsynet. Gjensidige's own reports/decisions page also lists a July 2021 order (påbud) regarding good-practice/conduct rules and a July 2022 order for non-compliance with parts of the executive order on good conduct for insurance distributors.
