Regulatory updates
In March 2023 BaFin imposed a capital surcharge on the solvency capital requirement of AXA Krankenversicherung AG (part of AXA Konzern AG) due to serious deficiencies found in its IT-related business organization, the first time BaFin used this instrument against an insurer; the order became final on 4 May 2023 and the company was required to remedy the deficiencies within a set deadline.
