Regulatory updates
Concordia is supervised by BaFin. In August 2024 BaFin granted Concordia Versicherungs-Gesellschaft a.G. permission to operate a further insurance class and risk types. Historically, BaFin approved the 2014 merger of oeco capital Lebensversicherung AG into Concordia Lebensversicherungs-AG and the 2016 transfer of the legal-protection insurer's business onto the parent mutual company. Independent complaint statistics show Concordia's legal-protection business had a below-average complaint ratio (0.4 per 100,000 contracts in 2023 vs. an industry average of 1.0).
