Direct payment

Benefits under this contract apply only as a supplement to earlier contracts covering the same risks or to the social security benefits the insured is entitled to. If the insurer pays medical costs incurred abroad directly, the insured must forward the file to their health fund and pass on the health fund's statement and any sums received to the insurer. If the insured has paid the medical costs themselves, the insurer intervenes for these costs after the health fund's contribution has been exhausted, upon presentation of original supporting documents.

Geographic scope

Worldwide for personal assistance (except countries at war); Belgium and geographic Europe (excluding Turkey) for the optional vehicle assistance guarantee.

Persons are covered worldwide, except in countries at war; home assistance applies to the insured's domicile and second residence in Belgium; the optional vehicle assistance guarantee is limited to Belgium and geographic Europe excluding Turkey.

Unique selling points

  • 24/7 telephone assistance provided in the insured's own language (French, Dutch, German or English).
  • Repatriation is accompanied by a multilingual Belgian medical team that brings its own medical equipment, ensuring it works properly.
  • Medical costs incurred abroad are reimbursed up to €100,000 per insured person.
  • Once the case file is complete, reimbursement of covered costs is made within 7 working days of receiving the required supporting documents.
