DallBogg: Life and Health AD was Bulgaria's largest non-life insurer by gross written premium, founded in 2008 as a voluntary health insurer and later expanded to general (non-life) insurance. It is part of the Commercial League holding group and had operated across multiple EU markets including Romania, Italy, Poland, Greece and Spain. On 9 June 2026, the Financial Supervision Commission revoked its insurance license due to gross and systemic violations of the Insurance Code, non-compliance with Solvency II capital requirements, and failure to pay court-established claims. The company is managed by two court-appointed quaestors and, following termination of its office lease by the majority shareholder, was forced to vacate its Sofia headquarters in July 2026. As of September 2026, no formal insolvency has yet been declared by a Bulgarian court, but lawmakers have proposed emergency amendments to the Insurance Code to help fund the Guarantee Fund shortfall expected from DallBogg claims.

DZI is the company with the longest experience on the Bulgarian insurance market, founded in 1946.
